LHS Color Run Kickoff

Latta High School will be sponsoring a Color Run this year.  The Color Run will take place on Saturday, May 16th.  If you, your friends, and family would be interested in participating in the Color Run, click here for the Entry Form and Information Sheet.

Students and teachers participated in a few Color Run activities.  Mrs. Gaddy and Mrs. Bryson ran the 3-legged race while Mrs. Jackson, Mrs. Foreman, and Tykiera M. doused them with color.

Senior Dori W. is coordinating the Color Run as part of her CAS (Creativity, Action, Service) project that will allow her to complete one of the requirements for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

Jordan H. (9th grade), Dylan B. (8th grade), Zach R. (Senior), Sam J. (11th grade), and Justin H. (10th grade) were good sports and participated in one of the kickoff activities.

Students from grades 5 - 12 participated in a Frozen T-shirt Contest.  The t-shirts were frozen into blocks, and the students had to open them (without beating them on the ground) and put them on.  You can ask any of the participants; it is a lot harder to do than it sounds!  :)

Pictured below: Macy H. (9), Colby S. (12), Austin M. (12), TaKeria L. (11), Dalton L. (11), and John L. (12)

Latta High Junior Dalton L. won the contest by getting his frozen shirt open and on with the fastest time.

LHS Prom 2015

Prom was held on Friday, March 27.  LHS Juniors, Seniors, and their guests had an evening in Paris.  Adrienne W. was crowned Prom Queen.

Act 155 Diploma Granting Procedures

(Act 155 (H.3919) passed by the General Assembly and signed into law by Governor Nikki R. Haley on April 14, 2014, states in part "Beginning with the graduating class of 2015, students are no longer required to meet the exit examination requirements set forth in this section and State Regulation to earn a South Carolina high school diploma.")

A person who is no longer enrolled in a public school and who previously failed to receive a high school diploma or was denied graduation solely for failing to meet the exit exam requirements may petition the local school board to determine the student’s eligibility to receive a high school diploma. The elimination of the exit exam (BSAP, HSAP) requirement is retroactive to the graduating class of 1990.
